Petit Verdot is a late ripening Bordeaux grape variety that has little in common with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec or Cabernet Franc, all of which have flavours that suggest a shared ancestry with the white varietal, Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is inky and naturally high in acidity. Our experience is that Petit Verdot, left to hang till death-knock, produces a distinctive full flavoured wine of great appeal.

Tasting Notes:

AROMA: Attractive and lifted aroma of green plum, mulberry and violets with hints of blueberry, cola, choc mint and charry oak.

PALATE: A full bodied red wine with a powerful grippy tannin structure. The palate has an abundance of red and dark berry fruit flavours with hints of plum skin, sour cherry, liquorice, coffee and quality French oak. It has a tight acid line and great length of flavour finishing with noticeable chewy tannins.

VARIETY: 100% Petit Verdot.

ANALYSIS:  Alc/Vol: 14.7%, Titratable Acidity: 6.7g/L, pH: 3.87, Residual Sugar: 0.16 g/L.
